Linn "Anakreon" Hi-fi concept
(February 1999)
This concept was based around the idea of mounting flat speakers
on a glass panel to mask the overall size of the system.
The initial 3D Model was created using AutoCAD R14 and exported
into 3D Studio MAX 2.5 for scene building and rendering.
The use of custom material maps allowed realistic CDs to be
created and the high-gloss table lends itself well to the modern
feel of both product and environment.
The Presentation Board you can see on the right was constructed
using Corel Draw 8, printed on A3 using an Epson Stylus Photo
EX and mounted on foam board. |

Linn "Kreon" Portable Hi-fi
concept
(February 1999)
Designed with 'portability' as it's main feature, the integral
chrome handles also double as the antenna. The wood finish was
applied to give a more formal look and feel but other finishes
such as Carbon Fibre and Brushed Aluminium were also considered.
Again, the initial 3D Model was created using AutoCAD R14 and
exported into 3D Studio MAX 2.5 for rendering. Once rendered,
Corel Draw 8's 'Add Perspective' feature was also used to add
details such as the display and control functions.
The Presentation Board was created in the same way as the above
Concept. |

AquaSTOR Beach Container/Cooler (February
1998)
This exercise was intended to develop manual rendering skills.
The Brief supplied was to design and produce presentation-quality
renderings of a Beach Container/Drinks Cooler only using manual
techniques.
The trick used in this case was to hand-render the product at
twice the final size. That way, the image could be pieced together
from individually rendered components before being photoreduced
and mounted.
Materials used were a selection of Magic Markers, Inks, Fineliners,
dry Pastels and Designer's Gouache. |
